Professor Andrews has held numerous positions within the government handling national security legal and policy issues. Most recently, she served as the Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel in the National Security Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ) where she was part of the leadership team focusing on a variety of national security investigations and prosecutions, including terrorism, counterintelligence and cyber cases, as well as, policy and legislative issues.  Professor Andrews began her career at DOJ as a prosecutor litigating terrorism cases around the county. She worked with the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s offices around the country to develop investigatory and litigation strategies in terrorism cases, including the use of surveillance techniques such as FISA.  Professor Andrews also spent time in private practice at two national DC law firms, worked on Capitol Hill and at the Department of Homeland Security. She earned her B.A. from Bucknell University and her J.D. from Cornell Law School.
